Design in Europe: Inside and Outside the Museum Walls
background
In Summer 2025, I studied abroad in Iceland, Scotland, and England, gaining experience in exhibition and environmental design. The program focused on design development for audience engagement and the conveyance of narratives in the public space and the built environment.
challenge
At each location, I responded to project briefs developed by professionals in exhibition and spatial design, including the Whitworth Gallery, Iceland Museum of Design and Applied Art, Gagarín Studio, the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden, and Central St. Martins School of Art and Design.
opportunity
Studying in new environments alongside creative peers from UC Davis, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, and UC San Diego pushed me beyond my comfort zone and exposed me to diverse narrative perspectives that shaped my design work.
