Gensō Cube Lamp

Gensō cube is a lamp I produced in DES 136B: 'Designing with Light-Industrial Design' with materials provided from Buzzispace, a firm developing acoustic furniture and lighting for happy and healthy workspaces.
challenge
I was tasked with building a luminaire using Buzzispace’s material ‘BuzziFelt’ across a 10 week period. I incorporated the BuzziFelt along with LED strip lights, and laser-cut acrylic & wood.
opportunity
Taking root in BuzziSpace’s geometric designs and bold colors, I was inspired to design and produce a sculptural table lamp. The contrast between the layered felt and acrylic creates an ambient glow and illusion of depth.
